Music Station!

Have you ever noticed that there can be more than one version of the particular song. This can be regarded as a type of bilngualism becasue there are different language version used in the same song. Let's look at the below example. The producerse reproduced the song by filling the other languages into the lyrics with the same melody and music lines. Besides, the title of the song can somehow reflect the bilingualism too!

(Love is not enough) by 林峯(Raymond Lam)

This song is sung in half-korean and half-cantonese. We could say it's a mixed code, code-switching and language mixing because Korean is a non-native language to the HongKongers. We can also conclude that it is a adoption of "minimal bilingualism". After all, this is always familiarised by the Hong Kong audience. The singer will distribute a bigger amount of  Cantonese than Korean when singing. Korean is in a minimum of usage of words in a second lanauge. However, the singer and his company may want to evoke the relationship with the Korean fans associated with the minimally used language.

For the song title, I think the tranlated english title is pretty good enough. But as a Chinese, I think the english title can't totally reflect the singer's regretted feeling(懊悔,內疚) towards the personna he sings to.

2. Dear Friend (亲爱的朋友)
This song originally is come from Korea. However, due to its popularity, the song had been reproduced in a
Chinese version, which sang by Shunzi (順子) and Yao BeiNa姚貝娜, who is one of the competitor in the voice of China 2013.

Oh~ Friend

Oh~ Friend
Oh~ Friend

Friend~

Personally, I am more touched by the Chinese Version in the Voice of China.

Below is sung in Cantonese, the version whose HK people are more familiarise with.

The above is the Putonghua version. The song is produced bilingually and upload to the media for example Youtube.

The singer sings this song intechangeably or bilingually with the Putonghua and Cantonese.
Please comment below to see if you can think of other examples!
